Green Marine UK has invested in a second Rovtech ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) to bolster its newly established Subsea Services Department.
The news comes weeks after the firm announced a seven-figure capital investment in the new division targeting the UK’s burgeoning offshore wind sector.
Cutting-edge subsea technology to be deployed alongside the Rovtech VALOR ROV includes equipment from Sonardyne, Norbit, Voyis, Tritech, Digital Edge Subsea, Cygnus, EIVA and a range of other sensors.
It will be used to deliver a range of in-house turnkey solutions and data. New services will include GVI (General Visual Inspection), 3D Survey incorporating real time SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) & photogrammetry analysis, Marine Site Characterisation, Multibeam, O&M monitoring with a focus on subsea cables, pipelines & offshore structures.
Green Marine Managing Director Jason Schofield said: “Our team has built a formidable track record supporting the UK’s offshore wind sector for more than decade. This has put us in prime position to diversify with industry demand. We see enormous growth opportunities on our doorstep in Scotland and have now launched a new recruitment drive to support the company expansion. A range of positions are available, and we are urging driven, skilled and ambitious professionals to get in touch.”
Job opportunities include ROV Supervisors and Pilots, and well as subsea Inspectors and Surveyors.
Green Marine estimates the ‘service addressable market’ for subsea O&M services across UK offshore wind to be worth in excess of £270million by 2030. This has been guided by detailed studies produced by OREC (Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult) – the UK’s leading technology innovation and research centre for offshore renewable energy.
Green Marine’s project work has spanned across the world’s largest offshore windfarm, Dogger Bank, and the world’s largest floating offshore windfarm, Kincardine. Further projects have involved Moray East in the North Sea, Triton Knoll off the Lincolnshire coast and Greater Gabbard near Suffolk. In addition, Green Marine has supported a number of offshore windfarm sites currently under construction and development, including the Neart Na Gaoithe, West of Orkney, Inch Cape, MachairWind, Caledonia, Muir Mhòr, Pentland, and Salamander.
