Orbital Marine Survey
Green Marine were contracted by Orbital Marine to carry out a MultiBeam EchoSounder (MBES) on their EMEC test site prior to the arrival of the world’s most powerful floating tidal turbine, the Orbital O2. To complete the survey, MBES equipment was mobilised to Green Marine’s vessel, Green Quest.
The survey was carried out to identify features on the orbital anchors in a 45m water depth. To achieve this, Green Marine mobilised a MBES unit with a resolution of 690mm, this was able to be down-sampled to 590mm.
Following the survey, Green Marine provided Orbital with a DWG of the recorded data, as well as XYZ files.
